What is your return policy for orders purchased in-store?

Sealed products may be returned within 7 days of purchase for a full refund. After 7 days, sealed products returned within 30 days of purchase will be accepted as exchange only. All returns require a receipt or proof of purchase. Returns made after 30 days of purchase will not be accepted. Sale items are final sale.

What is your return policy for orders placed online?

We want you to be happy and totally satisfied with your purchase! If the product you've received is inaccurate, damaged, or defective, please contact shop@sonicboommusic.com within 30 days of receipt. All returns must be pre-approved - contact the store by email at shop@sonicboommusic.com to request a return for refund. The customer is responsible for any return shipping costs. We are not able to send replacement items or refunds without receiving the defective or damaged item in return. Note that returns are processed as soon as possible, but please allow 2-4 weeks for processing. We reserve the right to apply a restocking fee for any non-defective items that are returned. Any returns or exchanges are also offered in-store at 215 Spadina Ave., Toronto. Online orders returned in store will be refunded to the original form of payment and are subject to processing times of 1-3 days.

Items purchased in-store may only be returned in person. We offer a 7-day exchange policy in-store for defective items, used items and new/still sealed items.

All shipping costs are always non-refundable.

What is your shipping policy?

We know the urgency of wanting your new record right away and the pain that comes with waiting. We do our best to get your order out ASAP! For orders that are shipping to most parts of the Greater Toronto Area, we offer a next/same-day option. Orders from outside the GTA are shipped out in 1-2 business days with Chit Chats. Transit time can vary but if generally 1-2 weeks depending on your location. All of our items ship from our store at 215 Spadina Ave. in Toronto and have been stored in a retail environment.

Please note that all transit times are estimated, and there is no guaranteed delivery date for all orders.

Is all of your stock available online?

For new items - mostly yes. But as a real-life, bustling shop in downtown Toronto, our stock is constantly in flux. We do our best to fill all of our online orders quickly - but we apologize in advance if somebody in store purchases your item at the same time you are checking out! It's not too regular of an occurrence, and we ever need to disappoint you for this reason - we can certainly look into special ordering another copy of your record.

Our vast selection of used records is available for in-store shopping only!

Do your online prices and stock vary from the physical location?

We cannot guarantee the prices and inventory on sonicboommusic.com will reflect the prices in our physical store location. This is due to many factors and can change at any time.

Is it pressed on coloured vinyl?

Looking for a special edition, limited edition or coloured vinyl pressing? You can find all of that information in the product description. If those details are not listed, you can presume the product is standard black vinyl.

Can I pick up online purchases in-store?

Yes! Just select pick-up as your option at checkout.

Can I pre-order or reserve a title online?

Sure! We occasionally offer some pre-orders for certain priority titles.

If you aren't able to find what you are looking for, please reach out to shop@sonicboommusic.com with your request and we can potentially special order an item for you. Special orders usually take 2 – 4 weeks to arrive at the shop, depending on availability. Once they do, you will receive a call from us and we will keep it on hold for a week while you complete your order.

How do I get to your store?

We would love for you to stop by! Our brick and mortar store is located at 215 Spadina Ave, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. You’ll find us in the heart of Chinatown, between Dundas St and Queen St W on the east side. Open daily, 11am– 8pm.

Shipping FAQ

Does my order ship free?

All orders including $175 or more of qualifying products ship for free anywhere in Canada and the US (Sorry! We currently have paused all shipping to the United States - we hope to resume again soon). We also offer free next-business-day shipping within the certain areas of the GTA! 

What's a qualifying product?

Ok, we're not trying to be jerks but we do unfortunately need to exclude certain products from free shipping just due to the nature of shipping them and their size. 

The only products that don't qualify for free shipping are posters, turntables, speakers, and record storage crates. Everything else qualifies towards the free shipping threshold. That's easy enough, right?

What's the deal with this express local delivery, how does that work?

We offer an express shipping option for local orders with our partner Trexity.

All orders placed before 10:30am are delivered same-day between 4pm-10pm. Order placed 10:30am and onward are delivered next-day - within the hours of 4pm-10pm.

Please note that by default this is a residential service - places of business that are not open at the time of delivery (4-10pm) will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

Please note that shipping to a PO box is not available for this express local service.


Please note this is a courier delivery option and you need to be home to receive the package. If the receiver is not responding and there is no safe place to leave the package, the delivery will fail. Please note that additional charges may apply for re-delivery, or change of address after a failed delivery.

If you're located within delivery range of our same-day and next-day local delivery options, you'll see that option at checkout.

Next-day and same day service is offered only Monday through Friday. Next-day orders placed on Friday after 10:30am and throughout the weekend will be delivered on Monday.

What is the process for in-store pickup?

We offer free in-store pickups at our physical shop at 215 Spadina Ave in Toronto - just select it at checkout and your order will be ready ASAP. Note our store hours (11am-8pm daily), and pay attention to our social media channels for updates on holidays.

Please wait for your pick up confirmation notification before heading down to the shop. If you haven't received your confirmation but would like to pick up, please give us a call at 416-532-0334 and we can do our best to fast-track your order to be ready for pickup.

What if my order is less than $175?

Shipping for all orders that don't qualify to ship free is a low flat-rate based on your location.

What about duty & taxes?

We have currently suspended our US shipping and only ship within Canada - no duties and taxes!

Where does my order ship from?

All orders are processed at our shop in Toronto at 215 Spadina Ave.

Which carrier will deliver my order?

All non-local orders in Canada are shipped with Chit Chats and are delivered by their networks of local courier partners. 

GTA customers are able to select our Express Local Shipping option with our partner Trexity.

US orders are delivered by USPS (US Shipping is currently suspended due to circumstances beyond our control - we hope to resume again at some point).

How long will my order take to get here?

Please see the shipping time estimate indicated for your shipping option at checkout. Tracking information is provided as soon as we'll prepared your package for shipment and you can track your package every step of the way. Package taking too long? Reach out to us at shop@sonicboommusic.com and we can look into it!

Do you ship internationally?

Unfortunately at this point we're only shipping to Canada and the US (Sorry, all US shipping is on hold currently - but we hope to resume at some point). We hope to introduce international shipping in the future!
