We know its the long weekend and what better way to end it with a performance by Canadian Hip-Hop icon SHAD!!! Shad has quickly become one of Canada's most respected young artists - period. His highly anticipated 3rd full-length album, titled TSOL, hits stores on May 25th, So come by the store and get it a day early.Fans can expect more of what Shad does best on his forthcoming release. TSOL is a carefully crafted mix of hard-hitting, clever rhyme schemes and soul searching social commentary, but it also exudes a new confidence from Shad, who the National Post praised as "Canada's Best Rapper" in 2008. Shad's sophomore record The Old Prince (2007) was received with top reviews by music critics across the board, snagging him a Juno nomination for Best Rap Recording of the Year and securing a spot on the coveted Polaris Music Prize.

My friends, it's that time again! Grab your coffees and some comfortable shoes because its time for the 3rd annual International Record Store Day! On SATURDAY, APRIL 17th, come join us for an entire evening of incredible exclusive releases, amazing prizes and giveaways, and of course live musical performances from the following white-hot acts...

The event starts at 3:00 pm sharp and while this appears to be the working order the bands will play in, things are likely to change a bit so keep your eyes open for possible revisions in the schedule. Oh, and our good friends, DJ Shit La Merde and DJ jj will be dropping some science between acts to keep you smiling the whole time.

As always, the instore will be free. We do, however, ask that you bring in a non-perishable food donation for the Daily Bread Food Bank. And since we're predicting the event is going to be extremely well-attended, it might come down to us having to use the donations as your admission, so please bring one. Also, try to get here as early as possible to ensure your place in the annals of awesome.
