Bruce Springsteen - Working On A Dream

Theboss.jpgWorking on a Dream is not only a worthy album, but also an enjoyable one. But when you've built a career on inspiring nothing less than transcendence, is enjoyable really a worthy goal? When your fans have come to expect that feeling of epiphany, can you justify only giving them a glimpse of it? I get the feeling that driver would say no. Pop Matters

Loney Dear - Dear John

01514_Loney_Dear.jpgLoney Dear's gauzy pop can be entrancing, but it's also incredibly easy to tune out: Let your mind wander, and the Swedish act's latest goes full blur. At times, he even brings them into focus for you: The gorgeous title track (sample lyric: "I'm slumbering to music / My limbs cease to hurt") approaches the crafty romanticism of countryman and sonic soul brother Jens Lekman.
